Joey is working on his Masters of Divinity in ACU’s Graduate School of Theology. He is in the Texas Army National Guard Reserves, and his ultimate goal is to be an Army chaplain. He hopes—and we think he’s right!—that the experience and tools he’ll acquire during his time in Eden Fellows will enable him to help form healthy communities within that context.
Joey enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, being physically active in sports, and helping with his church community. He also loves spending time with his wife Emily, who is currently studying radiography at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Though Emily’s school and work in the field of radiology keep her occupied enough that she won’t be participating in every aspect of Eden Fellows, she’ll certainly be alongside Joey and the rest of the crew for the journey!
During his time as a fellow, Joey is interested in working in a non-profit environment or hospital chaplaincy, as those are two areas that would positively shape his ministry and career path. He is excited to see where God leads him next! Please take a look at his résumé if you’re curious to know more about Joey.
Why is Joey excited about being an Eden Fellow? Here’s what he had to say:
“I am excited about being an Eden Fellow because it allows me to explore new things and connect with a community as we all deepen our relationship with God. This experience will grow me spiritually and academically as I learn and experience these new things with those walking a similar path.”
